ZEBRA

I can't say this enough but a stripped top is one of those basic classic pieces that everyone must have.

The style can be versatile, a turtle neck, v neck tee or a fitted crop top.

But remember this is just like any of your basic pieces, so it can be worn any way.

I pair mine up with my high waisted vintage levi's cut offs with studs...

With this piece you can never go wrong, dress it up or dress it down. It's all about putting your touch to the look.

DOT IT UP!

For those warm summer nights the polka dot print is both fun and sexy...

I love doing a polka dot print dress or fitted cap sleep top that is sheer and black.

This print can be done in all colors, but its always classic to do it in black and white.

The perfect combo when wearing a polka dot skirt or top is to mix it with a  neutral color and bold gold accessories. This combination makes a bolder statement, while still keeping it chic.

ISHIOKA

Japanese costume designer Eiko Ishioka's creations were always grand in style.

She was inducted to be one of the members of the New York Art Directors Club Hall of Fame and received an Academy Award for Bram Stroker's Dracula in 1992.

Her designs were like structures of art. Ishioka's pieces captivated the eye and has us longing for more.

As Ishioka would describe herself as a free spirit and she demonstrated that in her design philosophy.

“I suppose you could say I’m obsessed with creating work that has never been seen before,” -Ishioka

Silk Road

If we were to go back in time to the 1960's, you would find that Kabul the capitol of Afghanistan was  known as the Paris of Central Asia...

Hard to believe now, but back then Kabul was full of fashionable stores and a growing cosmopolitan mood.

Imagine visiting centuries old bazaars filled with beautifully hand embroidered coats, silk turbans and gold galore.

This editorial is dear to my heart since I am Afghan and was done by  American Vogue in 1969.  The editorial team was there to  showcase some of Afghanistan's fashion and famous sites.

In the 1960's Afghanistan's biggest import in fashion was the goat skin coat. It flourished Vogue's pages back than and even now we see it redone on runways all over fashion week.

This editorial shows a different side of Afghanistan that many may not know.So here is a look on how it was and can be again...

Summer Sizzle

Don't be afraid about being bold this summer, rock out to the hottest swimwear...

It's all about mixing bold prints, vibrant neon colors and of course accessories galore.

Some of my favorite looks are cutout one pieces and two piece fringes in neon, color blocked with a solid nude bottom.

Michael Kors has an amazing snake skin print one piece that oozes sex by having intricately placed cutouts on the sides...

This summer its not about being demure when it comes to working our swimwear ladies, lets be bold!
