Lace Perfection

There is nothing that can make an ensemble look more elegant or sensual than adding some lace....

This isn't anything new, but it's all about how you apply it to your wardrobe ladies...

There are many different types of lace, but for now I suggest sticking to a black antique-style lace.This way your able whip it out multiple seasons...

Lace can also be used as an accent. As seen below from the Emilio Pucci collection this season. By adding just a touch of lace across your decolletage, can give you a very regal look. Especially with a bodice that is well fitted.

When it comes to lace nylons, antique-style maybe a bit hard to find...But they are a definite must have, giving you elegance in an instance.

Another quick tip is to remember to keep a fine balance you don't want to be overly suggestive, but rather elegant.

And not to forget lace can be worn any way and at any age as long as it is done right...

Here are four homes that embody the essence of classic style...

These homes came out of the case study house program...the architects were challenged to break the mold of the cookie cutter homes of the 50's.



Using non traditional building materials, with a emphasis on modern minimalism.

These homes all have the trademark of clean lines, exposed beams and floor to ceiling windows.

These architects Pierre Koenig, Richard Nuetra and Phillip Johnson helped define an era that was cool, classic and timeless.

If designing your space is new to you , then lets start with a piece of furniture that can be worked around..... Like a chair!

Each piece that is created by these innovative designers are always made to make a statement and  you can never go wrong by picking anyone of their designs.

So the must have of this week will be to apply your personal style to your home, by adding a contemporary piece.

When it comes to men with style there is only a few that come to mind and for me that would be James Dean and Marlon Brando....

Yes I'm going classic on this one....

Both screen icons cultivated a look that has a fan following amongst men even today...

These two gentlemen are what epitomized coolness from every angle... They made every woman's heart skip a beat back in the day  and even now !!!  So what does this tell you... Fellas take note....

What's key to Brando and Dean's look is that it is effortless, don't fuss with over accessorizing. They kept it simple, but paid attention to detail...

Stick to neutrals....As seen in the image above... Dean combined a khaki blazer, an olive green dress shirt and perfectly fitted slacks...All three key pieces made his look classic.

This week its all about drawing our inspiration from our favorite male style icons...

Watch out ladies I think the fellas are going to blow you away with their style this week...

URBAN CHIC

I always love seeing peoples street style no matter which part of the world I'm at, and I definitely saw that in the runways this season...

There is an edgy urban vibe to the collections....

Effortless chic with cool metallic colors and skinny fitted 'gaucho' trouser tucked into mid-calf booties or paired with an amazing lace up stiletto, yet still keeping it minimal.

The skinny gaucho trouser was a hit on many runways from Balmain to Fashion East, giving us different variations on how it can be done. May it be metallic silver, crystal embroideries or of course black leather!

This weeks fashion must have is quite universal if you think about it...Pair it up with a flowy chiffon top or if your real fashion maven, how about a leather jacket with spike encrusted shoulders!

So lets pay homage to the man who emulated the look so perfect. Bring out your inner rocker this week ladies because I'm talking about  David Bowie!

And remember always make the look your own. If it doesn't feel right, it surely will not look right!
